Quady Winery

Quady Winery (Madera, California) specializes in sweet wines. Andrew Quady produced the first varietal bottling of an Orange Muscat dessert wine (Essensia, 1980) in the U.S., followed by a varietal bottling of a Black Muscat dessert wine (Elysium, 1983). In 1988, Quady introduced Starboard, Batch 88, made from Portuguese grapes in the port-style. Quady began producing low-alcohol Moscatos in 1990, first made from Orange Muscat and Muscat Canelli (Electra), then Black Muscat in 1993 (Red Electra). In 1999, Quady launched Vya Sweet and Extra Dry Vermouth, the leading premium U.S. vermouth brand.
